Thermal Ablation
Thermal Ablation is a quick (usually less than 30 minutes), simple, and minimally invasive treatment developed to reduce excessive menstrual bleeding without a hospital stay. Unlike a hysterectomy, Thermal Ablation allows you to preserve your uterus, and importantly, recovery is fast - many women return to their normal activities the next day. With an excellent safety record and high success rate, this treatment can stop heavy bleeding so that you can take control of your life.

Uterine Balloon Therapy
Uterine balloon therapy is a newer form of endometrial ablation that is performed during a simple 30-minute procedure. (Ablation is a surgical technique that uses one of a variety of methods - laser, heat or freezing - to remove the endometrial lining of the uterus.) Uterine balloon therapy involves the use of a balloon that is inserted into the vagina, through the cervix, and placed gently into the uterus.
No incision is required. The balloon is inflated with a sterile fluid until it fits the size and shape of the uterus. Then the fluid in the balloon is heated and the temperature is maintained for eight minutes while the uterine lining is treated. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, and no hospital stay is required. Most women can return to work and family commitments the next day. Using this procedure, 85% of women can expect light to moderate periods. Some experience no bleeding at all. As with traditional endometrial ablation, however, this treatment is intended for women who have already completed childbearing.
